One primer coat and 3 finish coats of gloss Awlwood MA and the grain is filled. At this point its like instant gratification. You need to do double the coating with varnish to get to this point if your lucky. Ill probably do another 3 or 4 coats on that and call it good. Freshly washed … We’ve determined that the mast and the wood on my helm top actually used to be stained not painted, the paint was flaking off anyway so we started to see what we could remove with the heat gun (sanding is next), this padded cover on the salon top isn’t original in the glue was about half peeled away where it touched the wood, so now I need to glue it back down and find some decent trim to cover the seam … once I get the paint stripped and the wood varnished. Albert Bartkus when did you say you’re getting here??? #MissGinger

Rebuilt my flagmast. This one had fallen off the boat during my reassembly a few years ago. Found a backup in MI and the hardware was good but looked like a homeless flagmast. Have to get some new burgees to fly. #captainalbert #chriscraftcons
