Try Sardines, or a little tuna.
Try the swirled peanut butter/jam mix.
Then you are baiting the trap wrong. 😉 Maybe she has an iron deficiency?
Just beat the damn thing with a hammer. It has been too long. Hover over a pile of tinned peanut butter and bring it down….
lol
Rats “need” to chew to wear their teeth down. Better a roll of foil than your wiring! Look at the positives. That said, use a “pencil” of foil on the trap. She’s already looking for it a a chewable. You have the advantage.
hammer
You need a bigger boat
That’s quite the the holiday spread!
Low country rodent , try shrimp
Glue traps, put in bait boxes if pets on board. Find bait boxes at Farm or hardware stores. Different sizes. Use glue or Decon. Decon is warfin harmful to Raptor s and other wild life but rat needs gone ASAP.
You could actually flood your hull with co2.. rats have a high respiratory rate. Dead in ninety seconds.
I would save that for a last resort.
Probably take two, or three bottles.
Target acquired 🙂
Excellent!
The first one…
Fully sanctioned.
Which bait?
Told ya that rodents like peanut butter, I just didn’t think this one had a taste for tortilla chips. Hopefully, this is the end of the your stowaways. But if you want to leave a few traps out for a couple more days to be sure, my exterminator also told me to use vanilla extract. Pour a little on the traps to draw them in or if you place cotton over the bait pedal, put a little vanilla on the cotton too. Or maybe you need some salsa for those chips.
nutella
Try some anise on bread.
Sometimes you have to be smarter than the rat.
Boy rat???
Target Immobilized!
She is nesting…rats will eat anything pretty much but the are a herbavoir…so what ever younuse for bait…cover the trap with a spice like Basil..they love it and can smell it for miles..and if she likes foil..well foil her plan..simply use foil and Basil on the trap
TWAAAAANNNMGGGGG!!! LOL
Rodents looking for a meal will chew up a lot of stuff. Usually if there is one, there are more your not seeing.
Spread fabric softener sheets (Bounce) around. Drives most away.
I know I am late to the dead rat party, but here is a site that confirms you are on the right track with snap traps instead of poison. It is funny too.

Those traps with the yellow plastic never work for me, and are the only ones available locally
