Replacing the brass strapping on the bow. After loosing chine caps on both sides at different times they were due. Getting this done while preparing the hull sides for a repaint. Got the stock from McMaster. Had to drill and countersink.

I was told that hull is from a Connie design but cut down some. I do not have these straps though, curious…. What do they do and should I consider adding them? 1959 40′ Conqueror. Thoughts?
