Tonight’s project:. We have air, but no noise?? Kiddo says the screws are stripped, or corroded, or too tapered, or something??? Who has gotten their original air horn working again?

Screws are fine, they just need a good cleaning with a wire wheel. Use loctite on them, clean all the parts. Rub vaseline on everything when you put it back together. Be careful not to get vaseline in the screw holes or on the screws.
Its been 30 years since I rebuilt one.
Don’t over tighten
Accumulated dirt, tiny insect cocoons on the vibration plate impede its function clean it all with alcohol or similar cleaner. Make sure air lines are in good condition and pressure regulator set. Too much air is as bad as none at all
Maybe you can blow some air down the throat. Might be some kind of nest in there. Maybe mud daubers.
If you get stumped, call Bill Randall, ‘the horn guy’ He did my electric horns. Old school guy, phone only…315 336 8841 Rome NY, you mail him the horn, he mails it back, tuned and all
I rebuilt mine … just steel wooled the diaphragm , greased it with vaseline , put it back together and hit it with 100 psi …. mine will deafen you if you’re standing on the bow

Use one size larger screw, maybe metrics to get 1/2 size larger.
These are self tapping screws.
The diaphragm needs a rubber gasket, if that gasket gets to hard it will need to be replaced or soaked in Wintergreen oil. I soaked mine in wintergreen oil and then it worked. In my case I just got new screws the body was not stripped. Mine does not work at 100PSI it is stamped with 300 PSI, so I had to drill out the intake and got it running at 135 PSI. On the other hand mine is a Airchime K series, but the principle is the same. https://www.facebook.com/1675226199165965/videos/1995072497181332/
If you want to save it,either drill and tap to the next larger diameter screw,or have helicoils installed. The larger screws are the easiest.
My 1972 works fine
With all of these suggestions I am going to keep my mouth shut. ????
