Trying to get this one bolt out … I have to climb through that little door that's just inches from the ceiling and up into the anchor rode locker and there is not any space to get anything around it to loosen it??? I gave up and now trying to just spin the winch around the bolt to unscrew it! How in the heck did they install this thing??

They use the open part of the wrench
And more than likely they have someone on top
Put a pair of vice grips on it and they will block against the hull
Grind the top of the bolt off. It sucks because of sparks but maybe.
Gitrdone
My favorite tool for this type of issue is a battery powered dremel with cutoff wheel! No cords and it is quite agile
Grinder
From what I can see from your picture, useing a uni saw cut the bolt on the weather deck side. Obtain a new bolt when re-installing.
Grinder?
Dremel and a cut off wheel.
Just cut a slot in the bolt head then use a large flat blade screwdriver
A sharp wood chisel would have been my choice because you have to put it back later and you will need room to do that
Cut the wood away would be my choice as well.

Multi tool…saw it off lift from deck and then deal with bolt…
It wood gets nicked use a filler and paint.
Drill the bolt down from the winch side with a smaller bit. Then it should pull out.
Multi master tool (Fein, Porter cable) and metal blade…cut the bolt. Just my 2 cents…
Harbor Freight sells a Multi-Tool for $30-$40. Buy a couple extra “Bi-metal” blades for $8 each. Slip the blade under the winch and “flush-cut” the bolt. Ezypzy ???????????????? If its brass it’ll go relatively quick. Is SS it will take a couple blades or more to get through it. ???? And you will love the tool for many other projects.
