    Something that has worked well for us is to tape first then after paying in the TDS I run another thin bead over top and gently run a plastic spreader
    When its dry you can easily run a razor to cut perfectly flush with deck planks
    This will drastically cut your sanding time.
    Also TDS can get into the grain a bit which takes lots of sanding but the above method will keep that to a minimum
