#Rocket update! He told me to hold this lever and didn’t tell me to let go once it started. We might try it again once we repair the hole in our trash can lol!! And take the prop off!! I’ve been out in this garage with him for 10 days now with aircraft paint stripper, oven cleaner, alumabrite, polish, etc. Thank goodness he goes back to school tomorrow! Brody Campbell

Congratulations! What a fantastic way to have our children learn something they might enjoy the rest of their lives. Reminds me of me when I was a kid! To this day, I enjoy the wonders of all things internal combustion.

It’s gonna fly once it gets going-
It’s a Mercury thing- (getting the old ones started) he’ll learn the tricks and be skimming over the water like greased lightning!

LOL, yes take the prop off or keep it in neutral. My cousin had a Mark 25 (same lower unit) and did that against a metal 55 gallon drum. He cracked the lower unit housing 🙁 That’s a beautiful boat. You guys did great on it. I have the same exact Mark 30 with a tiller handle. Awesome outboard. Post a pic when you get it on the lake!
